In July 2024, Ms King performed to an adoring crowd of over 6000 fans at the Jazz in Marciac Festival with her tribute to Ahmad Jamal, demonstrating what one listener cites as her "rough sensual voice ... lush, rising, bursting out, flying like a bird....". A native of Philadelphia, Denise King boasts a powerhouse performance career, and has headlined around the world in New York, Paris, Marciac, Turkey, Brazil, Africa, Germany, Thailand and Japan. With a recording catalog spanning nearly 30 years of elite vocal jazz, Ms King is poised to open the next chapter of her studio creations with a new album " PEOPLE GET READY " release in November 2025.
Like a white ceremonial dress embroidered will stars, her voice covers us from head to toe, with a goose bumps. A voice much like the plumes of the peacock, dazzles us with its beauty, in harmony with all that exist. Her voice, a front door to a new world, is opening for us with love and energy to enter a place of peace in the middle of the turmoil. Eye of the storm. Her singing guides us through the labyrinth of our lives. Hers a personal quest to reach the center, some kind of sacred place, as the Grail. A symbol of truth and immortality. Goddess of the secret of existence. We are the energy of the morning bird. Brushing the water of the river to go with it. The energy of the feather carried away by the flow. The energy of the power dancing wind, hitting the stones and the trees, whistling in the branches, pushing the leaves towards the infinity of the sky, like an ultimate angelic song.
